Software Security Engineer
 

Job Description
 

Software Security Engineer will be a member of the NCTE Security engineering team tasked with interfacing with the NCTE software development team.

  • Tracks the progress of software solutions to ensure the meet all development security gates

  • Works with software developers to complete the Application Software Development Security guide

  • Performs system and application hardening activities

  • Operates code scanning software to determine vulnerabilities and false positives

  • Pursues and tracks long tine security goals of the software engineering division

  • Performs software maintenance and understands software configuration management with version control

  • Develops software system test procedures and conducts software testing.

  • Analyzes and estimates feasibility, costs, time, and compatibility

  • Utilizes experience and judgment to develop and regularly maintain plans outlining steps and time tables for performing software engineering tasks.

  • Communicates software design by using diagrams and software design documents

Candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills, and experience:
 

Qualifications
 

• Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or similar discipline.

• Three (3)+ years of software development in DoD Systems to include: o Systems/Equipment Support o Test and Evaluation support of C4ISR requirements o One (1)+ year of technical experience in support of World Wide Web (www) interface applications using Structure Query Language (SQL), Oracle, MS Access, or Java as a front end interface.

• Embedded Software Development experience and C/C++ required.

• Understands and is capable of handling advanced programming topics such as multi-threading, scheduling, and concurrency.

• Strong knowledge of computers and real-time computer applications.

• Network Protocols TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP experience a plus.

 • Certified Comp TIA Security+ preferred.
