Project Manager


Program Summary

The NCTE is a USFF/PACFLT capability managed by NSWC Corona that provides a virtual range complex that integrates Navy simulation and stimulation systems into a core simulation environment allowing Navy forces to train and

experiment in virtual worldwide locations with realistic weapons and command, control, communications, computer, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR) systems, and operationally relevant situations and interactions. The NCTE integrates legacy shore and ship‐based training systems at USN, USMC, and Coalition locations worldwide.

 

Essential Job Responsibilities

Leads and directs one or more project teams engaged in the design, implementation and modification of IT projects that span across functional organizations. Prepares project execution plan and identifies appropriate technical and business resources needed for the team. Ensures projects are completed on schedule, within budget and meets technical requirements of the assignment. Keeps current on advances in the field of IT. Provides technical and analytical guidance to project team.
 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field;

  • Experience managing the design and installations of complex, IT or Communications related systems, to include management of construction and deployment schedules, subcontractors, and vendors. 

  • Experience managing complex Microsoft Project or other project management software plans.

  • Experience working in a government contracting environment.

  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail.

  • Self-motivated and driven desire to succeed with minimal direction.

  • Ability to work both on a team and individually.

  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to travel internationally, spend extended time periods on travel in support of Installation Projects (2-3 weeks per trip, 1-3 Trips/quarter). 

  • Must have a current DoD Secret Clearance
     

Preferred Requirements

  • Technical background in IT or Communication systems engineering.

  • IT Certification

  • Certification in Project/Program Management (e.g. PMP, PgMP, CAPM, PMI-ACP, PRINCE II, etc.)
